ZephyrCharts is a navigation aid for pilots designed to display aviation charts in a format easy to use in the cockpit: an airplane marker/route on a moving aeronautical map displaying the GPS altitude, speed, heading, and Zulu time on an iPhone or iPad.

The app is localized in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese and Chinese. Feel free to install it on multiple devices.

ZephyrCharts contains an embedded database with local radio and runway information for over forty-five thousand airports across seven continents. All the chart layers can be viewed online or purchased for offline useage via in-app purchases.

Users can purchase/download the following charts in-app for offline use:
FAA: US VFR, IFR Low/High, TAC, WAC.
OSM: World, Canada/Alaska, Continental USA, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania. (Updated 13-03, please restore to get the new content.)

Some users have experienced difficulties with the download manager. If needed, please uninstall/reinstall ZephyrCharts and re-purchase your database (you will not be charged) to download the content again.

Totally useless for Europe
Its a cheap streetmap in bad resolution. No VORs no NDBs. Useless
virgin islands are not included
downloading the wrong files is expensive. You never know what area you receive exactly
Absolutely gorgeous!
In-app purchases are available to upgrade the app, but they ARE upgrades. The app, as is, is fantastic. Totally comprehensive and user friendly. Accurate and with a wide range of maps. The downsides are few and far between and likely to be ironed out in future revisions: The list of airports is narrower than need be. For example, Oshawa Airport is not listed in Ontario. However, the search option automatically brings up airports near you, so Oshawa comes up anyway. Itd be nice to see these inconsistencies fixed. Itd be nice to add airport and route favourites. Let me add CYOO, CNF4, CYYZ and others to my faves to quickly refer to. Same for routes I use often, like CNU4 to CYOO, and others. If such an option already exists, its not readily apparent. I really look forward to seeing this app improve.
